The Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated Oct. 21 & 22 at all masses. This is an opportunity to receive the grace of the sacrament if you are anticipating surgery or a hospital stay in the near future, are chronically ill, elderly, have an acute illness or disease, or are pregnant. It is also for those physically or mentally ill, but not spiritually ill, as the sacrament of reconciliation is for spiritual healing. The sacrament is not for those who have the common cold. The anointing will occur after the homily. Those receiving will be invited to stand in the aisle. After the initial prayers, you will be invited forward to receive the anointing on your forehead and palms.
