Our Common Prayer this Lent
With the many improvement projects going on at our three campuses, it is a good time to look at ourselves holistically and see what might need to be restored within the parish. Fr. Patrick invites us all this Lent to pray about the following and begin to write down your thoughts in the small booklets that were distributed at mass. These thoughts will be gathered in future weeks.
- What is the next step for our three parishes?
- What would you like to see by year's end (Liturgically, Socially, Outreach, Education, etc.)?
- On what strengths should we build to further our mission?
- What are some of the bigger challenges we face and how can we meet them?
- What are the hurdles that prevent us from being the best we can be?
Young Adults Retreat
& First Eucharist
Join us at Good Counsel Hall on Feb. 25th from 10am to 5pm for a day of retreat, "The Narrow Path: Christian Life in a Secular World." Join a fun, action packed day with young adults (20s & 30s) who are looking to develop and deepen Christian friendships and explore ways to find and live the mission of the Catholic Church. There will be talks centered on navigating the Christian Life in a secular world (like in the workplace, etc.), a service project, and lots of great fellowship. Don't miss out!Mass and dinner to immediately follow retreat. To learn more, contact Beth Awalt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Preparation began in the late fall and continues for first reconciliation and first eucharist. Your child may participate if he/she is in the second grade and has completed a full year of religious education and/or Catholic school enrollment. Please call the office immediately if your child is not registered. First Reconciliation Prep takes place on Mondays at 6:15-7:30pm at Good Counsel (Feb. 26). Celebration of Sacrament: Mar. 11 or Mar. 18. First Eucharist prep will begin immediately after Easter. The celebrations will be in May at various masses.
holy cross Mass Location Change
Holy Cross restoration has begun! The magnitude of the work necessitates moving Holy Cross masses to St. Mary, Star of the Sea until project completion. This is a change in location, not times. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
• Van service will run as usual, driving all to St. Mary.
• The small parking lot at Gittings and Battery is available for a few cars – please try the street first.
• Tuesday and Thursday daily Mass at Holy Cross will remain on the Holy Cross Campus in the chapel at 106 E. West St. (former rectory).

Boiler Fund - Your Help is Needed
We have created a Boiler Fund to cover the costs of new boilers for both St. Mary's and Holy Cross. Initial estimates for both projects are up to $395,000. Please discern your family's ability to give to this endeavor. Please note checks or online gifts with "BOILER." Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

The mission of Dynamic Catholic is to re-energize the Catholic Church in America by developing world-class resources that inspire people to rediscover the genius of Catholicism. The Catholic Community of South Baltimore is a member parish of Dynamic Catholic. Learn more here.
There are a variety of easy ways to give back to help support the parish family. Give to the Local Community, the Archdiocese of Baltimore, or directly to CCSB. CCSB also supports the community through Our Daily Bread and other programs. As part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, we encourage our community to give to the Archbishop's Annual Appeal.
The Catholic Community of South Baltimore joins together three historic urban parishes to be a beacon of Christ's Light in our neighborhoods and beyond. Entrusted with this light at baptism, we go forth celebrating the sacraments, proclaiming the gospel, and serving the people of God.
CCSB offers both daily and weekend masses across the three parishes of Holy Cross, St. Mary Star of the Sea, and Our Lady of Good Counsel. Check back for specific schedules for other seasons throughout the year.
