This year, we are making some much needed updates to our beautiful churches, including:
- Repairing the Apse Wall (section surrounding the altar)
- Refurbishing the Stations of the Cross
Our Lady of Good Counsel
- Replacing the flooring & repairing the sub-floor
- Renovating former library and current meeting space
St. Mary, Star of the Sea
- Restoring the Bell Tower
The Catholic Community of South Baltimore joins together three historic urban parishes to be a beacon of Christ's Light in our neighborhoods and beyond. Entrusted with this light at baptism, we go forth celebrating the sacraments, proclaiming the gospel, and serving the people of God.
Burying the Dead is one of the 7 Corporal Works of Mercy. The other works include Feeding the Hungry, Care for the Sick, Visit the imprisoned. These Works of Mercy remind us of the need to give dignity to the body in life and in death. The Body is the Temple of the Spirit since each of us are made in the image of likeness of God. The body in life and death therefore should be respected fully.
The Catholic Community of South Baltimore (CCSB) offers both daily and weekend masses across the three parishes of Holy Cross, St. Mary Star of the Sea, and Our Lady of Good Counsel.
Check back for specific schedules for other seasons throughout the year.
