Please join us in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by participating in a lively discussion of Dr. King's Letter from Birmingham Jail. Dr. King wrote this letter in response to a statement made by Southern religious leaders, which we will also read, who opposed his nonviolent protest of segregation. In our discussion of Dr. King's letter, we hope to celebrate the spirit of love with which the letter was written, turning topics that have the power to divide us instead into opportunities to bring us closer to one another and Jesus.
