Anointing of the Sick
Offered after every Mass, first Sunday of each month
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be offered after every Mass on the First Sunday of each month. Those who wish to receive the sacrament, and any family members who wish to join in prayerful support, can make their way to the front of church after the conclusion of Mass. Anointings can also be requested anytime by contacting the parish office.

A Taste of Spring
Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church
Join us for A Taste of Spring 2025!
You’re invited to A Taste of Spring! This will be a day of spring fun outdoors for the South Baltimore community. Highlights include:
Wine, beer, crushes, and summery food
Wheels - a “sweets & spirits” wheel and a flower wheel
Kids’ activities - a Plinko board, flower-themed crafts, and more activities for little and big kids alike
Music from DJ PolleNATE — Nate Carper, local peninsula parent & CCSB parishioner, and Roses n Rust, local peninsula band!
Raffle - buy your $5 tickets for a chance to win the $1,000 prize or the $250 prize
Need not be present to win. Drawings take place one hour before the end of the event.

Middle School Youth Group
Inviting all middle schoolers and rising 6th graders to join us for a variety of games and fun! Your child can invite other middle-schoolers to attend as well, even if they’re not parishioners!
IMPORTANT: if you have not done so already, please complete a permission slip and bring it with you or email it to beth.mayr@archbalt.org. This only needs to be completed once a year. Here is the link - Permission slip here!

As a parish community, we support this mission by donating, preparing, cooking, and delivering casseroles, bread pudding, desserts, and more to those served by SALT, UHP, and the Missionaries of Charity.

Youth Mass
At our regular 9am and 11am Masses every second Sunday, children of all ages are invited to participate in the Mass by lectoring, greeting, ushering, or bringing up the gifts. To learn when signups are released for Youth Masses, join the email/text Youth Mass list on Flocknote.

Trivia
Where: Riverside Taphouse
When: Monday, May 12th at 6:30pm (trivia to start at 7)
What: $15 donation suggested per team, up to 8 people per team
Why: Fellowship, parish support, and...bragging rights.
Join with a CCSB ministry to form a team, or play as an army of one! We will have four rounds and four bonus rounds for CCSB Trivia superiority. Get some friends together to form a team, and come out to support our parish and a great local business!

Adoration & Reconciliation @ Good Counsel
Join us for a sacred time of Eucharistic Adoration, offering an opportunity to pause, reflect, and be in the presence of Christ. This is a time for prayer, worship, and spiritual renewal.

Red Cross Blood Drive
Save a Life & Donate Blood

In the past, CCSB has averaged 30 units per drive. Now the Red Cross has given us space for 65 donations!! Help us meet this amazing challenge at our new location: the Knights of Columbus Hall!
On Saturday, May 24th from 9am - 2pm, the Knights of Columbus Hall will host the American Red Cross for a blood drive. All in the community are welcome to schedule an appointment and save three lives.

Baltimore Station Volunteer Night
Volunteers prepare and serve meals to the residents of Baltimore Station, then join them for the meal and conversation. While it’s certainly helpful to have extra hands to prepare the meal, talking with the residents and hearing their stories is even more valuable, for both you and the residents! The shift is from 5pm-7pm, and volunteers must be fully vaccinated to attend, per Baltimore Station’s policy.

Church's Night Out
Looking for a casual setting to learn more about how others are living out their faith and what our faith calls us to do? Church’s Night Out is organized by CCSB on the last Wednesday of every month at a bar/restaurant on the peninsula. Doors open at 7pm, talk begins at 7:30pm. This event is free, though any drinks/food are pay-on-your-own. Confirmation at CCSB
This year, CCSB has a number of teenagers receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation - which will be on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at our regular 5pm Mass at Holy Cross. All are welcome to attend!

Baltimore Station Volunteer Night

Green Team cleanup
Join the Green Team for an afternoon of community and care for creation as we gather to clean up Latrobe Park from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Meet us outside Our Lady of Good Counsel before we head to the park to help keep our local environment beautiful and litter-free. This is a great opportunity to give back, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with others who share a passion for stewardship and service. All are welcome—bring your enthusiasm and let’s make a difference together!

Praise Mass
Join us for a joyful and uplifting Praise Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel! Experience dynamic music, heartfelt worship, and a spirit-filled celebration of the Eucharist. Come ready to lift your voice, open your heart, and be renewed in faith.

Scouts blessing
Join us for a special Scout Sunday celebration during the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses, where we will honor and bless all Scouts in our community. Scouts are encouraged to wear their vests, uniforms, or attire as we recognize their commitment to service, leadership, and faith. Following the 11:00 AM Mass, there will be a flag-raising ceremony at 12:00 noon in the little garden next to Good Counsel. We invite all Scouts, families, and parishioners to be part of this meaningful tradition as we celebrate the values of faith, duty, and honor.

Easter Mass
Celebrate the joy of Easter Sunday Mass with us as we gather to rejoice in the Resurrection of our Lord. This is a time of renewal, hope, and victory over death, as we come together in worship and thanksgiving. Our Easter Sunday Mass schedule is as follows:
8:00 AM at Holy Cross – With cantor, piano, and cello
10:00 AM at Holy Cross – With full choir, brass, and organ (Van transportation provided!)
12:00 PM at Good Counsel – With contemporary praise and worship music
Come celebrate with us in a way that suits you best, and let the joy of the Resurrection fill your heart as we honor Christ’s ultimate gift of love and salvation. All are welcome!

Easter Vigil
Celebrate the Easter Vigil with us at Holy Cross at 8:00 PM, the pinnacle of the Easter celebration. This ancient and beautiful liturgy begins with the lighting of the Paschal Candle, symbolizing the light of Christ rising from the darkness of the tomb. Through readings, psalms, and the joyful celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, we rejoice in Christ’s triumphant victory over death. It is a night of deep reverence and joy as we welcome the Resurrection and the promise of new life. All are invited to join in this sacred celebration of hope and renewal.

Federal Hill Easter Egg Hunt
YOU'RE INVITED to the annual Federal Hill Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 10am!
Now organized by Catholic Community of South Baltimore, we are excited to continue this longstanding neighborhood tradition. Expect a morning with hunting for Easter eggs, meeting the Easter bunny, games and crafts, and more!

Good Friday Service
Join us for the Good Friday Service at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel, as we solemnly remember the Passion and Crucifixion of our Lord. This powerful liturgy includes the reading of the Passion, the Veneration of the Cross, and a time for quiet reflection on Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. It is a moment to deepen our understanding of His love and to stand in awe of the immense gift of grace He has given us. All are invited to unite in prayer and reverence as we walk the way of the cross together.

Holy Thursday Mass
Join us for the Holy Thursday Mass at 7:00 PM at Holy Cross, as we commemorate the institution of the Eucharist and the beginning of the Easter Triduum. This solemn liturgy includes the Washing of the Feet, symbolizing Jesus’ humble service to His disciples, and the celebration of the Last Supper. It is a time to reflect on Christ’s love and sacrifice for us. All are invited to come together in worship as we begin this sacred journey toward the joy of the Resurrection.

Women’s Group

Second Sunday Social
Join us for Dinner Fellowship after the 5:00 PM Mass, a wonderful opportunity to share a meal, connect, and build community. Each month, we gather outside the church after Mass and head to a different restaurant or venue to enjoy good food and great company. It’s a time to deepen friendships, meet new people, and continue the spirit of fellowship beyond the church walls. Come as you are and be part of this joyful gathering!

Palm Sunday Outdoor Mass
Join us for a special Palm Sunday Outdoor Mass at Latrobe Park at 11:00 AM, where we will come together to celebrate the beginning of Holy Week in a beautiful, open setting. This solemn and joyful liturgy commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, as we bless and receive palms as a sign of our faith. Gather with us in prayer and reflection as we prepare our hearts for the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. All are welcome to this sacred celebration—bring your family, friends, and a chair or blanket to worship in the heart of our community.

Men's Group @ Holy Cross Hall
Men’s group meets every Thursday morning - coffee is on at 6:45am, the discussion starts at 7am, and concludes at 7:50am. For those able to stay, Mass in Holy Cross begins at 8am. No prep needed - just come and join in the discussion!

Tenebrae
Enter into the solemn and powerful experience of Tenebrae, a traditional Holy Week service that invites us to reflect on Christ’s Passion through scripture, psalms, and the gradual extinguishing of candles. As the light fades, we are drawn into the mystery of Christ’s suffering, betrayal, and ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. The dramatic silence and darkness symbolize the weight of sin and the hope of redemption, preparing our hearts for the joy of Easter. Join us for this moving liturgy as we journey with Christ toward the victory of the Resurrection.

Grief Support Gathering @ Good Counsel Dining Room
If you have had a loss and would just like to talk with others who have also experienced the loss of a loved one, come and join us on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

Join us after Mass for a special time of Lenten Reconciliation, a sacred opportunity to reflect, repent, and renew your heart in preparation for Easter. Lent is a season of conversion, inviting us to draw closer to God through prayer, fasting, and acts of mercy. Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we embrace God’s infinite love and forgiveness, cleansing our souls and strengthening our faith journey. Take this time to seek healing, find peace, and experience the grace of renewal as we walk toward the joy of the Resurrection.

Middle School Youth Group
Inviting all middle schoolers and rising 6th graders to join us for a variety of games and fun! Your child can invite other middle-schoolers to attend as well, even if they’re not parishioners!

Anointing of the Sick
Offered after every Mass, first Sunday of each month
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be offered after every Mass on the First Sunday of each month. Those who wish to receive the sacrament, and any family members who wish to join in prayerful support, can make their way to the front of church after the conclusion of Mass. Anointings can also be requested anytime by contacting the parish office.
