Relics of St. Bernadette Soubirous

  • Catholic Community of South Baltimore 110 E West St Baltimore, MD, 21230 United States (map)

“The Song of Bernadette,” is a 1943 film that recounts the miraculous apparitions of the Virgin Mary to St. Bernadette Soubirous, a young girl from a poor family in Lourdes, France. Her story is compelling because it speaks to our hearts and the need that we see around us for healing as well as the hope we have in the material love of the Virgin Mary. Over the years since these apparitions, this desire has led thousands upon thousands to make pilgrimage to Lourdes and drink and wash in the miraculous waters of that Grotto. Sadly, in this time when so many are in need of healing, few have been able to make this pilgrimage.

From May 12-15 the Archdiocese of Baltimore will be blessed by the visit of the Relics of St. Bernadette Soubirous to the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen.

During this time there will be an opportunity to seek the intercession of St. Bernadette and, with her, to ask the Lord for healing. The opportunity to receive healing of body and soul will be experienced in a powerful way through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick, which will be offered Saturday, May 14, 3-5 p.m.

All are invited to Mass on Saturday, May 14, at 5 p.m. to be followed by a procession of the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes.
