Funeral Mass MUSIC
Our music ministers here at CCSB are honored to be present for the memorial mass for your loved one. We hope our music will be a comfort and a blessing to your family, and we are available to assist with any questions or concerns regarding the music for the liturgy. You may use the form below to select music, and our Director of Music, Ashley Powers, will reach out to you to confirm or assist with selections, as well as answer any other questions. If you do not prefer to select music, let us know and we are happy to arrange a program for you.
There are other many other hymn options available in our hymnals here at CCSB aside from the suggestions listed on this form. If you do not see a hymn here which you would like to have for the service, we can use any selection from within the Gather 4th Edition hymnal. (During the season of Lent, we may not use a hymn containing “Alleluia.”)

A memorial mass is a liturgy in which we are celebrating the Catholic Funeral Rite, and therefore all music selected must be liturgically appropriate. Pop or secular music is not allowed within a liturgy of the Catholic church, and music, as a form of prayer, must be offered by musical ministers present. An essential element of any prayer is that it comes from the person who is offering it, and therefore recorded music would not be appropriate.
Standard instrumentation is one cantor and one pianist. Should you like additional musicians, we can arrange 2-4 singers to sing in harmony as a duet, trio, or quartet, or add an instrumentalist such as violin, cello, or flute.
All musicians for the service will be contacted, arranged, and scheduled by the music director.
