The Catholic Community of South Baltimore joins together three historic urban parishes to be a beacon of Christ's Light in our neighborhoods and beyond. Entrusted with this light at baptism, we go forth celebrating the sacraments, proclaiming the gospel, and serving the people of God. CCSB offers both daily and weekend masses across the three parishes of Holy Cross, St. Mary Star of the Sea, and Our Lady of Good Counsel. In June, the three separate parishes were combined under one legal state corporation and one canonical Roman Catholic parish.

The Catholic Community of South Baltimore is crafting its new mission statement and every parishioner is invited — and encouraged — to participate! Groups will only meet about 4 times over the next few weeks. NOT WEEKLY and NOT FOREVER! And, you can CALL in if necessary. We’ll use words that identify the parish or energize you and others to worship here at the Catholic Community of South Baltimore, including KNOW, LOVE, SERVE, WELCOME, NURTURE AND COMFORT. Start thinking of a few nouns, verbs and adjectives that describe what a parish should be and enter them by clicking on the button below! Contact Richard Kamenitzer ( for more information or to participate.
