The Mission of the Catholic Community of South Baltimore is to know, love and serve God and embrace our wider family by living the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy: following the example of Christ, caring for all of God's creations, and protecting the dignity of life.
CCSB offers daily and weekend masses across the three churches of Holy Cross, St. Mary Star of the Sea, & Our Lady of Good Counsel.
Young Adults: Volunteering
@ First Fruits Farm
Saturday, Nov. 2, 9-11:30 am @ 20431 Middletown Rd., Freeland, MD 21053
Our Young Adults group will be volunteering at First Fruits Farm to help harvest some of their produce. First Fruits Farm is a terrific organization that harvests fruits and vegetables to provide healthy meals for the hungry in our area. Volunteers should come dressed in closed-toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops) and clothes that are comfortable for the weather - these may get very dirty. The farm will provide work gloves, water, and on-the-job training. RSVP or to inquire about carpooling, email Jess Ross at firstname.lastname@example.org. Learn more: http://firstfruitsfarm.org/
Three Sacristans Needed
CCSB is in search of three very special people to serve as a sacristan at each of the three churches. This person must be mature, reliable, and willing to serve with joy! Duties include:
Arriving early to light the candles, arrange the books, ensure holy water reservoirs are clean and filled, and assist the priest/deacon as necessary
Preparing the Holy Eucharist: ensure there are sufficient hosts and wine and place them in the back of church before mass
Cleaning the holy vessels after mass: chalice, cruets, and linens
Ensuring the church is locked and secure after parishioners have left
If this job calls to you, please email Fr. Josh at Joshua.email@example.com.
dynamic catholic - october gift
Continuing with a focus on the children of our parish, the featured gift for this month is the CD BLESSED Songs for the Young at Heart by Eliot Morris. This album debuted at number one on Billboard’s Kid Albums chart earlier this year and it’s a great way to engage children and their families through inspirational music that even parents will love!
The mission of Dynamic Catholic is to re-energize the Catholic Church in America by developing world-class resources that inspire people to rediscover the genius of Catholicism. Learn more.
